History - the 1880s
Many improvements have taken place to both clubhouse and ground with clubhouse extensions in 1968 and 1976 and the club now boasts excellent floodlights and stand.
Fund-raising effort over the years have seen Donkey Derby's, Sulky and Camel racing - even a Circus on the ground, though we drew the line at Elephant racing to the relief of the Ground Chairman. Further improvements were carried out on the ground during the summer of 1994 when a comprehensive drainage and presiding programme was carried out to improve the 1st and 2nd team playing surfaces. The improvements are always ongoing with annual programmes of fertiliser, surface drainage and presiding resulting in a first-class playing surface.
